Situated on Cedar Lake in Annandale, this lakefront landscape design features a picturesque firepit, fresh rip rap along entire shoreline, a new patio, created beach with boulder wall, granite driveway re-shape, extensive tree re-shaping, and an elegant softscape design. While nature graced the home with a breathtaking view, the original landscaping paled in comparison. The problem? The modest wood decking extension off the back of the home didn’t lure the homeowners outdoors. A LAKESIDE WOOD-BURNING FIREPIT

BULLET EDGING, PAVER PATIO WITH FON DU LAC STEPS, AND GLACIAL BOULDERS FOR A NATURAL AESTHETIC TO MATCH SHORELINE

The client’s top priority for their lakefront landscape design was a patio, beach area, and wood-burning fire pit close to the shoreline. The objective was to integrate the fire pit area seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment. Seasonal planters, designed by Outdoor Care’s landscape team, add the perfect pop of color.

WORKING WITH ELEVATION

DIFFERENT SPACES FOR DIFFERENT USES

The slope presented a design challenge, but the designer worked with it to enhance the overall space. The natural elevation is a divider between the Four outdoor spaces, allowing the homeowners to enjoy all four unique areas within the lakeside area. Up top is a spacious dining and grilling area. A few steps down where they can sit and take in views from the paver patio. A short walk brings them over to the wood burning fire pit. And finally Down below is all new beach for casual lakeside hangouts and kids play time!

SHORELINE RIP RAP INSTALLATION

Rip rap was installed along the shoreline to protect it. The large rocks and stones safeguard the shoreline from the forces of nature while maintaining the ecological balance of the surrounding environment. Rip rap also contributes to the natural beauty of the waterfront area, providing a harmonious blend of function and aesthetics.

CREATING CURB APPEAL WHEN YOU ARRIVE

ENJOYING GREEN SPACES

Outdoor Care wanted the lakeside to be unforgettable, but you arrive at the front of the home and the client wanted no stone left untouched. The previous home owner’s idea of landscaping was to not touch anything so tree trimming and shrub removal was needed before re-shaping of the property could take place. Creating additional parking spots for guests was important but also leaving plenty of green space for family and grandkids to play while not enjoying the lake.

FINAL TOUCHES FOR LAKE APPEAL AT NIGHT

Outdoor Care upped the coziness factor with LED lighting on the deck posts/steps, around the patio and along the sidewalk. Before construction, the clients lacked a functional, enjoyable space to appreciate their beautiful view and entertain. Their outdoor living space has gained purpose, and the homeowners savor their time outdoors with family and friends.
